123 Grammar: Present tense verbs (b-prefix)

B Prefix vs. Active Participles usage

“‘B-prefix” verbs are so named because they add a “b” at the beginning of the verb.  While, as we have already learned, the active participle is most often used in lieu of a present tense verb, b-prefix verbs are commonly used to describe habitual actions.  Thus:

“I am traveling next week.”    (Active participle).

انا مسافر الأسبوع الجاي

“Every year I travel to Cairo.”  (B-prefix verb)

كل سنة باسافر مصر
